5 reasons why you shouldn't miss out on Codelocks training programme

Following the huge success of our Codelocks lock training courses earlier this year, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting two more sessions this autumn at our HQ in Newbury, Berkshire.

Our practical, hands-on training sessions are developed to elevate locksmiths' knowledge of access control, offer installation advice and provide tips for servicing and programming, allowing locksmiths to broaden their business prospects in an increasingly competitive industry.

We are committed to ensuring that our clients get the very best out of our products and are devoted to working closely with locksmiths, who work around the clock to install and service our full range of standalone door and locker locks.

What value will this training bring you?

Whether you have been in the trade for over 20 years or have recently qualified as a locksmith, our bespoke training courses enable you to unlock new business opportunities and ensure that you're up to date with the latest market trends. You will be given a full introduction to our mechanical, electronic and smart lock range of products by our industry experts.

100% of locksmiths who attended our training earlier this year said that they found it useful. But don't just take our word for it, find out what past attendees had to say and discover their top five reasons why you should attend our training sessions.

1. Increase sales

There will always be a demand for locksmiths, whether its people locking themselves out of their homes or business owners wanting to boost their security.

"The locksmith industry is competitive, which is why we are always looking for the edge to ensure that we are offering the best products available," explains locksmith and training attendee Robin Priest, J Priest & Son.

Developing knowledge and an understanding of the complex technologies built into our smart locks enables locksmiths to strengthen their portfolio. This, in turn, increases their credibility and business activity.

2. Knowledge

The more knowledgeable a locksmith is about a range of locks, the more advice and support they can offer their customers. This means they can alleviate issues quicker and give the customer peace of mind. Codelocks' hands-on training gives attendees the opportunity to fully engage with sophisticated locks and understand their infrastructures, so when it comes to discussing the features and benefits of coded locks, competent recommendations can be made to meet customers specific needs.

"The training has given me greater confidence in recommending and specifying smart locks." Amberley Security.

3. Skills

Codelocks' free training provides practical sessions that include training on installation, programming and service, as well as hands-on experience with innovative technology innovations such as the K3 Connect App*. The engaging Codelocks trainers help attendees understand the technologies behind the locks and give in-depth training and industry insights. So, when it comes to installing locks on site, attendees feel confident that they are equipped with the right knowledge and skillset.

"The training was informative and the practical aspect was very useful, the connection with the phone app is easy to set up." Lockrite.

4. Expertise

Codelocks training is delivered by experts who have longstanding relationships with manufacturers and extensive industry experience.

Jo Milne-Rowe, Codelocks business development manager and national chairman for the Institute of Architectural Ironmongers (IAI) is one of the trainers. She has worked in the industry for over 20 years and has a skilled background in architectural hardware, mechanical security and electronic access control.

"I am hoping that I can play a role in changing preconceptions about the industry and encourage the next generation of talent to seek a career in our ever-changing sector." Jo Milne-Rowe, Business Development Manager at Codelocks.

Throughout the training, you will also have the chance to network with other industry experts from around the UK. This is the perfect opportunity to share experiences, valuable hints and tips, and learn the do's and don'ts of lock installations today.

"Trainers have passion and a good level of knowledge." Shaftsbury Locks.

5. Visibility

All locksmiths who attend and complete our training sessions will be promoted on our Find a Locksmith directory on our website. This helps locksmiths become more discoverable and gives them accreditation, so their customers can be reassured that the locksmith they let into their home is certified and credible.

"As a business, we're leading the industry in introducing new access control technology and we are keen to improve the market's understanding of the capabilities and benefits of new approaches to access." Colin Campbell, Managing Director at Codelocks.
