Codelocks provides key technology for masunt

Masunt’s range of key safe products provide a safe and secure solution.

When entrepreneurs Markus Schacht and Stephan Untiedt, managing partners of masunt in Germany, needed to source a cabinet lock that would give their range of key safe products a competitive edge, KitLock with NetCode® provided the solution.

Masunt’s range of key safe products provide the holiday home rental market with a safe and secure solution for handing over keys, without the key holder having to be on site. Made from high quality stainless steel, the masunt KeyBox can be attached to the exterior of a property. It is secured with a battery-operated KitLock KL1000 NetCode cabinet lock with NetCode.

Remote Access Control

Thanks to an innovation in cabinet lock technology, guests can receive an access code via email or SMS message shortly before they arrive. The access code is generated from an online Codelocks Connect Portal and can be created so that it will only work during a set time frame.

“We looked at several different cabinet lock options, but the ability to generate access codes from a remote location was the added value we were looking for,” said Markus.

Masunt key safe products are also suitable for use at hotels and guest houses, especially ones that need to issue room keys out of hours and don’t have a 24 hour reception service. The company will also use Codelocks’ technology for two more of its forthcoming products; a lockable medicine cabinet and valuables box, both aimed for use within the home.

As well as creating access permissions online, codes for KitLock cabinet locks can be programmed manually via the keypad.

“We wanted to give our customers the ability to chose which access method suited them best, but most of them prefer the functionality of generating codes online,” continues Markus.

About KitLock

KitLock is a durable electronic keypad lock designed specifically for securing cabinets, lockers and enclosures. A KitLock KL1000 NetCode will perform approximately 15,000 operations from just two AAA batteries. When it is locked, a red LED light flashes just above the keypad. If the batteries run low, the red LED light will continue to flash when the lock is opened.

Long-term Relationship

With plans to grow the company, Markus and Stephan intend to build on their relationship with Codelocks and its NetCode technology.

“As a relatively small company in Germany, it was important for us to get the full support of a company like Codelocks,” explains Markus. “We have plans to internationalise our product in the near future, so establishing a good working relationship was key.”
